Once students exit the building, they will not be permitted to re-enter unless they have an approved pass.
At the minimum, students should bring a pen/pencil, paper, and their laptops with a charger every day. Some classes, however, require some extra materials like books and headphones. Students are also given note packets that need to be kept organized in a binder/folder, and in some classes, they do get homework that should also be kept nice and neat. A backpack helps with keeping all of their things safe and orderly. In addition, to be in compliance with Texas Law, students must keep all other personal electronic devices turned off and in their backpack.
Your students have 14 school days left until their ELA STAAR exam and 24 school days until their Math STAAR exam. Please check with them as often as you can and help assure that they have all the materials they need for school so that they can be as productive and successful as possible.
As always, thank you for all of your support.
-YPG 6th Grade Team-
All students entering 7th grade are required to have updated immunizations, including Tdap and Meningococcal (MCV4) before the start of the school year. Please provide an updated shot record to the nurse’s office as soon as possible. If your student still needs these vaccines or you have questions, contact your healthcare provider or the school nurse for assistance.
Attention Rising Seniors!
As you gear up for your senior year, don’t forget one important thing—your vaccines! 💉
Many colleges and universities require up-to-date immunization records, and staying protected helps keep you and your classmates safe and healthy. Be sure to check in with your doctor or school nurse to make sure you're up to date, especially on:
- Meningococcal vaccine (often required before college)
- Tdap booster (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
- Varicella
- Polio
Take care of this NOW so you can focus on enjoying your summer and senior year stress-free!
You've got this, Class of 2027! 🎓
